Just want to a say hello, and look forward to blogging with you all . We will be new to the RV adventure. In fact I am still in the research stage. We want to be able to go on the road for a year or two, sell the house and get away from the rat-race.
If you could give me any advice on purchase, what to make sure, great books, or workamping, I will absorb whatever it is.
Thanks

What do you envision spending on a mh, is it just you or family, where would you want to stay as in state parks, boon dock, commercial campgrounds, etc? Good luck on your decision. Oh Yeah, welcome to the forum.

Hi rivers!

I'm sure you will get a lot of opinions, and they are likely to be all over the map. There are no right or wrong answers, but you will need to determine what is right for you because everyone's circumstances are different.

We read numerous books on full-timing before we got started. Of course, those are now pretty far out of date, especially with respect to cell phones and internet, so I can't help you with any specific titles. Check amazon.com to see if they have any books on full-time RVing, or check your local bookstore in the travel section. Come to think of it, Janet Groene writes a column for one of the RV magazines on full-timing. She has a book called Living Aboard Your RV that might be helpful. I'm not familiar with that particular book, but Janet's articles have some good info, so her book might be a good place to start.

Maybe you could give us a little background so we can hone in on what kind of advice to give.

Have you owned RVs before, and if so, what kind?

Has your research progressed far enough to determine whether you want a 5th wheel or motorhome?

Are you looking at new or used?

In addition to decisions on what rig to buy, you will need to investigate things like domicile (without a fixed home, you can choose where you want to "live"), health insurance, vehicle insurance, etc.

When we bought our RV we were brand new to RVing. I got the package from the RV consumer group and found it very helpful.

RV Consumer Group - We Rate RVs

Good luck with your search and have fun with your purchase.
