We have a class A motorhome. When we use the electric heat, there is a rotating humming sound that gets louder then softer. Also, when it shuts down there is a slight bang. Not sure if this is common with the electric heat systems?

Well it would help to know what kind of rig (RV) were talking about and the age (model year) of the rig. Now what i can tell you is these sounds you are hearing could be the systems fans and/or pumps working a little harder than the norm. You might want to check the coldair inlet filter and make sure there's no blockage. I hope this is of some help to start with.

If I recall correctly a friend had the same or similar problem. It turned out to be a bent fan blade. It threw the fan off balance. Once replaced the noise was gone.

First question is, "is the electric heat part of the rooftop a/c, and if so, is it a heat pump or an electric heat element?". Or if it is not part of the a/c system, what is it?
