Love my freshwater quick disconnects!

I finally found the quick disconnects I wanted for the freshwater hose! I installed my pressure regulator and gauge directly to the freshwater inlet in the wet bay so it wouldn't get banged around. I put a female disconnect on one end of the freshwater hose and a male on the other end, so I can connect them together to prevent leakage when storing the hose. Some of the specs on these disconnects state that they are only rated at 75 PSI. I called the manufacturer who told me that was a mistake!

You gotta be very carful to retrieve your quick connect from the campground faucet when you disconnect. I've heard that some guy forgot one time. Only a rumor.

Those are nice. Of course, your regulator location means that your hose and quick connects are all subject to high pressure.

It would be pretty hard to miss that bright yellow disconnect and the green "Y" connector!

You would think so wouldn't you, but....I left a large y connector, bright brass with two qds attached at some campground in Virginia once.

I might be wrong but I think that pressure regulator is really a pressure restrictor. It restricts the flow thus reducing the pressure while water is flowing. When all the faucets in the camper are shut off the pressure can rise to whatever the CG is sending, when you start water flowing it does indeed restrict the pressure to around 60 #. It is those periods of non use that are harmful. A better choice would be a true regulator, maybe one from Watts that is adjustable, I keep mine set at 60 #.

This is the Fairview regulator that provides full throughput from the spigot, actually better flow than the Watts,

Oh, I could sure drive off without it... CRS happens. (-:

I have quick connects, but not at the CG end, just the coach end.

Those are nice finds Joe!! I can see if you have a separate fresh water hose, that this would be handy. Maybe even with a portable whole house filter and portable softener!
My FW hose is on a reel so it is not so attractive at the hose bib end because I need to cap off the end of the hose when I am not on city water (traveling) since my hose is part of the pressurized system then.
I did follow your lead with the regulator and inline filter.

Install a one way valve after the hose reel, problem gone!

Or another quick-connect fitting with a cap/plug.

Camco Brass quick disconnects

I have used the Camco brass disconnects for about 6 months.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Camco-Bra...&wl13=&veh=sem

Before these things I too suffered the embarrassment of unsightly water leaks! And about 1/2 a frustrating hour every time we moved the RV. :-) They have an "o" ring seal system between sections, as well as an "o" ring faced pressure seal when you disconnect. Only problem I have had was one of the female pieces lost an "o" ring. It was an easy find at a Tractor supply store (take a known good ring with you to the store).

They are appealing, but I've already "lost" several wye connectors, a pressure regulator, and a whole house water filter due to leaving them attached to the CG spigot. No sense in purposefully adding to the list.
Anyone who says they've never forgot anything, also forgets the past.
