magnadyne radios

Hi - I am new to this forum but a long time RVer. Current rig is a 2006 Monarch SE. CD player in the original magnadyne radio died. I saw several posts regarding problems with the magnadyne m1 lcd radio. Would like recommendations for a trouble free replacement. Thanks

It is going to be personal preference with recommendations and reviews on sparks your interest. The unit now I believe is 1.5 DIN chassis. You are going to be better off if you have the room to go Double DIN. Then what are you needs? Just a radio/CD player? Sirius/XM? DVD/Navigation?

I called Magnadyne as my unit no longer change bands, CD,Sirius and Weather worked but could not change to AM/FM. They recommended to replace the unit. With my needs I went with a JVC KWR800BT. I did not want an in dash DVD/Navigation unit as I already had a GPS. I just modified the opening to accommodate the double DIN chassis. The rest was straight forward.

mrv8outboard - thanks for the info. I don't need the navigation feature either.

Many places like Best Buy will do the install for free on a radio system over $100. I have done this on two different coaches and had great success. Getting a remote is also a great idea from a safety standpoint.
