What kind? Do they have a spring that pulls them up or hydraulic?

I had to use my scissor jack from the car once. Others have just pried them up with a 2x4.

Your owners manual shows how to operate the leveling system manually. It involves using a drill to turn the motor. A 2x4 will not work since there is pressure on both sides of the piston. If you don't have the manual go to http://lci1.com/support-center .

My HWH hydraulic jacks have heavy return springs. I replaced the springs but still have one jack that usually will not go up on its own. I carry a spare scissor jack in the RV. It doesn't take much force to get the jack up. I just use a screwdriver by hand to raise the jack. Someday I'll actually get to fixing the root cause, but too many other maintenance items now to deal with.

The OP is referencing the Lippert auto levelers. He/she has not given enough info to us such as make and model and type of rv owned by him. The Lippert auto levelers are installed on fifth wheel trailers. Your method will not work with them.

Different manufacturers have various procedures. Some require manually opening the hydraulic valve at the fluid tank and then putting pressure to help lift the jack, using a method of your choice to push up the ram.
Afterwards just close the valve you previously opened.
