MCD Shades

Anyone out there have MCD shades installed at Bradd & Hall in Elkhart
IN? How would you rate their work? The salesman has told me that they
can't be installed on every rig.

Can't really help other than to say we have MCD shades. They were an option on our new trailer we picked up this last March. From the way they are installed, that is the mounting brackets, etc, do not see any reason they could not be installed on any rig. Perhaps the salesman was only referring to the electric remote control MCD shades. Ours are manual, naturally the electric and/or remotes would be more difficult on an existing trailer.

Can't address what kind of work to expect from Bradd & Hall, but I can tell you we love our MCD shades. We have them on all but the cockpit windows.

Given enough money, there is no such thing as it can't be done. Perhaps the salesman should have said they can't be easily installed on every rig.

If you're talking about the windshield, the curve of the windshield and clearance issues with overhead cabinets (especially on older motorhomes with a CRT TV in front) sometimes makes it necessary to use 2 or even 3 screens across the front or to make major modifications to the front cabinets - not impossible, but expensive. That's the reason we didn't install the MCD shades in the cockpit of our motorhome.

For all the other windows, the major consideration is that there is a 3" clearance behind the valences. If clearance is a little less, a good installer should be able to put an inconspicuous spacer behind the valence to provide more clearance. If the space is a lot less than 3", it may be necessary to make new valences - not impossible, but also fairly expensive.

Camping4Fun . . . we're learning with our new to us 2006 Country Coach Intrigue, just about everything involves a big wallet! We went into Camping World to have MaxxAir vent covers installed and 6 of 8 tires replaced, and left with that done and a new satellite installed . . . ouch. We do have MCD exterior shades and have just ordered the velcro tabs as the previous owner must have lost or kept them. We really like the privacy they provide.

We have MCD shades on our 2008 Travel Supreme and love them, Bradd and Hall didn't install our shades but I have never heard anything bad about them, actually I've only heard good things about Bradd and Hall.
You might want to check Precision RV Painting in Bremen also.

mcd blinds

I have a late model TS, mcd cannot install a single blind in front window due to confiruration of the window, my installer here in CA who used to work for mcd in Texas says he does not like to install 3 shades in the front window and that is what would have to happen to make mine fit. The other windows are no problem. These blinds are very pricy if you get the day and night in auto electricversion, about $5500 for my coach, only $2600 in the manual version. My friend has an Allegro Bus and he loves the shades in his. If budget is a problem I would forget the electric auto version and get the manual version but get day and night, that is what I will do this next year.
