I wouldent call him a celebrity.. Camping in Florida in my brand new Itasca gasser, I had an issue with my engine and was talking to the guy next door about it (he was in a prevost) 30 minutes after talking to him a van pulled up with a ford crew that very quickly fixed my issue. Turned out my neighbor was the CEO of ford. Who knew..

I meet and associate with all kinds of people I consider to be "celebrities". They are my fellow RV friends.

Met John Bleakley who used to host the Wanderlodge rallies down in Perry, Georgia for years. He also bought a large percentage of those produced at the Blue Bird factory in nearby Fort Valley. He had quite a vocabulary and could out do a bos'un mate with his 'colorfu'l language

Gary Burghoff (Radar O'Reilly) spends his winters in a 5er in a nice park in FL (which I won't name - to protect his privacy).

Nice guy.

Met Troy Dunn, "The Locator" . . . a couple of years ago in Sacramento. The crew was filming an episode, he took the time to talk with us, chatted for a bit and hugged my wife (she's a big fan of him and what he does). Very nice and sincere fellow.

Eddie Money was my drinking buddy for one night!

I'm the handsome one on the left. Eddie is the very inebriated one on the right! Boy could he drink. Fortunately he was NOT driving.

I also met Chubby Checker, but did not get a picture.

This was years ago, sometime in the 70's I believe. We were in the Hearst Castle parking lot in San Simeon. And walking over to their motorhome was Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis of the Fifth Dimension. What made it special was at the time I was a D.J. in Wash. D.C. and they had heard of me. I don't know if I had anything to do with it, but it was soon after they divorced.

LOL Ramets! Good story! All of these stories are so interesting! RVing is so much more than just moving from place to place.

I have heard that Randolph Mantooth has a motorhome. Wouldn't it be interesting to bump into him at a campground!

Well, I guess since this thread seems to have deviated away from the RV criteria...here goes:

I spent an evening (about 20 some years ago) at my brother-in-law's modest house, sitting around the kitchen table with David Gilmore and Pink Floyd's business manager. No drinking or drugs, for sure. We only talked about airplanes, because he was getting his instrument rating from my BIL. Rock and roll was never discussed, only the drawbacks of fame and fortune. Not all that it is cracked up to be evidently.

Back in 2001 we were in Ca in our MH. I heard they were filming the combat scenes for "We Were Soldiers". I am a survivor of that valley and my wife suggested we drive the MH over there and see if we can get on set. We did and got on set. Wife is a long time fan of Sam Elliott and we met him and talked to him for over an hour. Forgot to take a pic. When he came back by we asked for a pic and he said OK, grabbed my wife and I took the pic. Couldn't get her off of cloud 9 for a long time. Also got a pic with Mel Gibson. I have the story here: Movie and at the bottom you can click to see our pics from then. Here's the best ones:
