My recent trip to Syracuse NY, required me to have some air con. work done on our 5er.

Life being what it is, a job that was supposed to take 11/2 hrs turned into a 5 hr stay, which after that amount of time was kind of getting the best of my Good natured demeanor.

I was begining to look like a permanent part of the lawn chair display.

When all was said and done, I was treated well, in a professional manner by staff, especially by Jerry...the Service Manager. Thanks Jerry.

Also Thanks to Floyd, the Tech. who did the installation. System is working well.

If any of you are in the area, and need a little friendly Help!....drop in and see Jerry and his crew......... Again, Thanks

Brad,

I might end up travelling through the Syracuse area this summer,

do you have a recommendation for a campground?

My cross continent misadventure is looking to spend more time south of the border I think now. so I have to really start hunting.

After having tried several places near syracuse, we found Turning Stone, By far the very best cg we have EVER found, and we have been to many all over the country. It is about 15 min east of syracuse.

Hey Kid... We have only camped in that area once. We stayed at Green Lakes State park, four miles east of East Syracuse off 290. Very nice park, only hydro available at sites, gotta tank up water on way in. very central to everything.
Maybe Colette and Joe can provide directions for Turning Stone aswell. Hope this helps If You need more Help, let me know....Brad

Turning stone is at the exit for the casino off the thruway and it is just past the casino on the right.
We were going to stay at Green Lakes, because it is just down the road from relatives, we were the only motor home there and the place was FULL of young (teens and early 20 and hippy types) all dressed in black and very uncomfortable feeling, we left. Our family said that they were experiencing problems with the 'dark culture' there for a while.
If it weren't for that the park is beautiful.

Hey Colette and Joe ; Not sure when you were there, maybe that was a one time thing, or maybe if there was a problem at one time its fixed up now. Not sure. When we were there in June 10 11 12 we had a great stay. This place was dead quiet after 10PM which we were well pleased with, we also found there to be Super Security in the park. Don't know though, maybe we were there on a Good Weekend, or you were there on a Bad Weekend. This was the only park I have ever seen where security (police) were ticketing speeders driving over ten miles per hr

Brado3ca. You are probably right, we may have just hit a bad time, and if the security is stong then they probably got a handle on it. We were there in July of 2005.
Sence family live all around it, they all raved about the park, they have been there all their life, 4 generations. So naturaly, we were shocked when we got there.
It is very close and convienent to the interstates.

The Big Kid, brad03ca, and all other IRV2.ers

Should anyone be traveling in Central NY and find themselves "beginning to look like a permanent part of the lawn chair display"¯, or heaven forbid having more serious emergencies or just need a rest break, do not hesitate to PM or email us for a telephone number and we well be there if at all possible.

Sometime ago diandtom started this thread

Need an Overnighter Forum

It was and remains a good idea that sort of petered out.

As posted there, we have room for an overnight if needed. In The Big Kid's case I'm sure we can muzzle the f350 so the 3500 will be safe ...... for a short time.

Hello Mike and Lynda. Would just like to acknowledge your more than generous offer.

Actually, If I realized we were that close, I would have loved to stop by and say Hello.

Had we known our 1+ hr job was going to blossom into a 4+ hr job, a coffee and good company would have been a great way to spend the time.

Again Thanks for the offer, and maybe we can meet in the future. We just love shopping in Syracuse
.......Brad
