The Magic Chef microwave w/vent hood that is mounted over my range has burned up twice. The first time they replaced it at no charge, but not this time. Can any of you recommend a replacement for it? It is about 20 inches wide. I definitely don't want another Magic Chef! Thanks!

Yeah, it actually smoked. The first on was flaming underneath when we unplugged it. The last one was smoking but had not flamed up when we unplugged it!

I got a Sharp Carousel with the following dimensions:
The dimensions are 20 1/2(w) X 12 1/8(h) X 19 3/4(d).
It is a convection/microwave but I suspect they have a regular microwave with the same dimensions.

Note that if for some reason you decided to get a convection type that they get much hotter behind than a regular microwave and unless your existing unit is vented out of the back you will need to get a build-in kit to make sure air is pulled in from the front and exhausted back out of the front.

I will second the Sharp Convection/ Microwave combo. Very good quality unit. I replaced a OEM Sylvania in a new Weekend Warrior that I recently sold and was very happy with it. The GE combo unit in my present Fleetwood Expedition also works very well although would be too large for your application.

Does this unit have a built-in vent hood for the stove?

Hey Joe,
You may have a hard time finding one that small that mounts on the wall. There is another thread about this. It seems like a lot of units didn't use standard sizes so replacing them is almost impossible.

My microwave is 28 X 14. The standard size for a house is 30 X16. I can't find a wall unit to fit. Good luck buddy!

Check a dealer that sales new motorhomes; folkes buy motorhomes and have the microwave swaped out for convections all the time. That"s how I got replacement for mine.

Just wanted to close this thread. We couldn't find a replacement that would fit the space and had the vent hood for the stove built in, except the one at Adventure RV for $375. We decided to take a chance with another Magic Chef just like the first two. We found it on-line for $187 and took an additional 3-year warranty on it. Surely if it's going to burn up it will do it in four years! Thanks all, for your suggestions!
