Minnesota road painting

On our way back from South Dakota last week. Lightly raining. We turned south on I-35 from I-90 and found ourselves trapped in the right lane where the DOT was painting lines (in the rain). Got home Friday and found little specks of white paint all over our 1 month old Class C. Three of us spend 6 hours rubbing and picking it off.

Anyone ever run into this and is there something safe which can be used to get this off?Click image for larger version

if you get it while it is reasonably fresh car wax will get it but after it cures you may need a solvent. Start mild and work up. Mineral oil can soften it enough and won't hurt anything. If you have to use solvents start with the milder ones like mineral spirits. If you need more than that you might think about getting a detail shop involved.

There was a guy whose large construction painting company painted Husky stadium in Seattle about 20 years ago and the wind made the paint drift over the nearby 520 bridge during rush hour. Oversprayed nearly 100,000 cars. They were buffing and replacing rubber parts for years.

I had light over spray and got it off with rubbing alcohol and a clay bar. Available at most auto parts stores and amazon.

Most likely rubber base paint. If you can get some triclorethelene, spelling may be wrong and it is really nasty stuff.
