Modifications to awning arms for lights.

Long story short looking for a way to hang lights on a electric awning. I've heard of people drilling holes in the arms and putting hooks there for hanging lights. Anyone done this and what issues did you have? Has anyone done something else that is fast to take down if needed? Any photos would help. We've just got this camper with the electric awning. Would like to have a manual awning instead but we will see.

Thank you
Art

We use "S" hooks on the awning arms; no "permanent" revisions made.

We use tiny little spring loaded clips from Dollar Tree, 5 clips to a card for $1. Clip the lights to the "valance" of the awning. EZ on, EZ off. Or, search Amazon for spring clips...several choices.

Thanks I'll give them a try. Much better than drilling awning arm.

If this is an automatic awning you need to be aware of it possibly closing with the "stuff" attached.

These LED strip lights fit right in the channel of the awning roller. I saw them at a dealer and it looked pretty cool. Cant find out any details of how they are wired though.
