Going to that much work to remove the TV, I'm surprised you didn't also remove the section that hangs down below the front cabinets. I took that section out of ours. It makes a huge difference on the amount of openness you feel when driving.

Saw this awhile ago from someone on here and thought it a great idea. Push down rod to open the screen door. Eliminates having to open the little window

Confused by your comment I was adding bigger TV's. I didnt remove anything. I actually just made a piece and drilled holes through the existing cabinet. Then put a metal bracket on the inside for support. I can take some better pictures of it if you want to see. The longest part was putting poly on it.

The front TV is not as tall as the original cabinet, so I assumed mounting it higher up would allow the removal of of the sections that hangs below it. On mine, I was able to remove the side wall that hung down, and refasten the base up at cabinet height.

I keep thinking I'm going to take some good photos of this project, but I'm not where those photos are, so I'll just post them anyway. When I first started out, I didn't know for sure what was going to end up where, other than the big tube TV was getting removed from the front overhead cabinets. Once the TV was out, I removed the section that hung down below the cabinets. Removed the soft vinyl cover. Removed the sides of the cabinet, and then re-wrapped the vinyl on the flat board that was under the old TV. Then screwed it back in place to cover the hole under the old TV. The first photo shows the new wood that covers the hole. The second photo shows the old TV base raised up to the bottom of the cabinets and screwed in place.
So what do you do for a TV? Hack a hole in the wall next to the dinette. The TV is 3 inches thick. It just barely clears the slideout when closed. 4th photo shows the wires fed through a hole down into the bathroom cabinet where I could connect AC.

And one more important photo. This is what happens when you need to drill down through cross braces in the wall. I though I was fairly straight, but all of a sudden there was daylight. Fortunately the hole was small enough to be covered with a blank outlet cover. (DW's idea)

The first thing we did with our newest RV was remove the screen door and replace it with a retractable. That's what we had in our previous RV and loved it.

Well I was going to ask for an explanation but just looked it up... I like it! Maybe when mine needs replacing I’ll upgrade.
Thanks!

We chose the Genius brand Sheer Classic model which is what was in our Itasca Reyo and came that way from the Winnebago.

I just looked at it on YouTube and it seem to work good and not a big deal to install

With you 100% Daveinet. When we bought our rig 7 years ago I did the typical thing of removing the "wart" that hung down and just patched the hole and threw on a TV mount figuring it'd be there forever. Welp..I wound up breaking the only HDMI port that would fit the RoKu dongle and had to buy a new TV. But shoot! I didn't want to pay almost the same amount for a 32" (which is what we had up there) as I could for a 43". Brought it home...well, sure, of course it wouldn't fit, but guess what, it sat perfectly on our dash AND worked better for our layout.
I'm going to try and use wood filler to fill in the screw holes and if that doesn't work I may put some kind of flat decorative trim. And I have no idea if I could find and match that gold strip on the bottom that's on the other two cabinets...I think that's probably impossible, but if anyone knows where you can buy that stuff let me know, maybe I'll give it a try.
So the past two weekends I've been attempting to fill in the hole and have it match the other two cabinets on each side.
I'm not done but I'm getting there. It's a real puzzle to get things in there securely and still look decent. Hoping to finish this weekend.
1st weekend it took me over 8 hours to get to the point where I could put in ONE piece.
2nd weekend I was a bit quicker, but still about 7 hours to figure out how to make that inside curved cabinet thingy and which order to put it all in so I can secure it.
Hopefully this last weekend I can take most of it out, drill the necessary holes, sand and ploy the surfaces, so the following weekend I can put it all together.
At least I 'think' that's how it should work.
Hats off to the craftsman who would have taken one look and had it done the all on the FIRST weekend!
Now all I have to do is buy some hinges and make the door.
Oh, and I'm gong to steal the handle from the bottom draw on my side of the bed so it'll match the other two cabinets, and I'll try and find something close to replace the one I took. But since it's WAAAAY in the back of the MH and on the bottom drawer of my side of the bed, nobody's really going to notice that it doesn't match. Well..unless I get lucky and find a matching one, but I doubt that can happen.

A nicely hinged door over that hole in the cabinet will cover up everything, including the holes. Then you don't need to match the gold trim. I really like my clock that I integrated into my door. Gold numbers and hands over Oak to me looks classy. You can buy the clock kits from Menards for 10 bucks.
I found I also really like having a mechanical clock when traveling. Once you cross over a time zone, you have no idea what time it is. Did your smart watch and your smart phone actually switch or not?
