Did a couple of mods this weekend.

First I replaced the paper window shades with 1" Venetians. The paper was just too inconvenient to open and close. I also cut the blinds around the cranks to make opening the windows easier.

Next I replaced the manual jack with a 3,000 pound electric.

Plod a couple of other small items. Finished up by giving it a good spring wash. Looks much better after the winter beating.

Wish we had room for a set of recliners. Maybe in another life...

Sweet !!

You may want to try Ernie's trick of cutting a piece of flooring to drop into the space occupied by the floor vent. It pops out for use of the vent and stays in place when the vent is not used. It sits on the lip around the duct and flush with the floor.

I never thought of that, I was thinking about a metal heat register, because the one leg of the chair is only on the register while moving. When I am parked the chairs will be in a slightly different position. We decided to secure the chairs with the seatbelts while in motion. I will look at Ernies solution now, thanks.

Now that you painted all the handles you'll need to paint all the window trims...

Haha...the thought actually occurred to me, but there's too much intense masking involved, not to mention the problem I'd have with the silicone frame sealant and the rubber window trim. I have gone around the coach and touched up all of the little paint chips though. Some masking involved, but it was minimal.

When I put a recliner in, it took up too much room so I put in a swivel/rotater chair with a high back. Now it belongs to whoever gets there first. Since we don't have a slide, the sofa is the ottoman. When I'm reading, I'm usually in the co-pilot chair anyway.

Fantastic Fan Maxxair

When I installed Fantastic fan in galley - instructions recommended NOT adding vent cover as it would make more noise and reduce air flow. So retired Maxxair to storage. Some 5,000 miles and many rain days later - need for cover looked again. This time DW controlled speed and I set Maxxair on and off roof vent. DW said very little difference. So dust it off and install. Ops not so fast. Two problems: 1. vertical leg of original L shaped brackets extended past frame and into rubber gasket. Solution - cut off at length so vertical leg would be just below gasket. Turned out to be right at screw hole. 2. new screw hole MUST be low enough on vertical so A. screw would not hit motor mount platform and B. screw head will not hit bottom leg. ie. drill new hole as low as possible. Use leg as template for hole into vent flange and drill at slight down angle. Follow Fantastic instructions for removing screen, crank handle, screen frame and motor assembly. At first drill ONLY ONE hole into flange to be sure there will be enough room for lock washer and nut on the inside. One person job but I highly recommend helper when it is time to put washer and nut on screw from inside and operate screwdriver on the roof. Didn't take any pictures - sorry. Cost $0.00 and less than two hours.
