That works. Practical experience like that always provides a creative edge!

Not really a mod, but replaced the EPDM roof on our 42 footer.

All work done by yours truly, with an assist from my son to get rubber up to roof and glued down.
Nice job, how do you remove the A/C unit?

Turn off breaker!
Inside:
Remove inside ceiling mounted grill or control unit.
Unplug controls and disconnect 120v power wires.
Remove (4) long bolts at corners that go up to rooftop unit.
On the roof:
Rock rooftop unit side to side to get seal to release.
Move out of the way.
DO NOT STEP IN HOLE!

Easier with 2 people.

Hope that helps.

I converted to dual 6-volt Trojan T-105 batteries yesterday using a NOCO dual 6v battery box. The pics and info are here in post 5 and 6

Looking good! I just scored four ACDelco 6V batteries, I'll be installing those soon as I get my camper back.

The place I got the NOCO dual battery box also carries a quad 6v battery box in another brand.

This is one (small fix) I just did.
For some reason, with this coach, the fluorescent ceiling light fixture lenses were always falling out while on the road. I didn't want to change out all the fixtures as there wasn't anything wrong with them, just the lenses falling out.

I picked up some 1-1/4" self tapping screws with white painted heads, measured center on the lenses about 3/4" in from the edge, pre-drilled the plastic lenses and screwed the lenses on. I made sure the heads were just snugged up against the plastic. I did all 4 fluorescents. The screws are easily removed if a tube requires replacement. A simple fix that still looks good. Saved myself about $500 in replacing the 4 entire inset fluorescent fixtures due to (only) loose fitting lenses.

And one more problem solved

Door roller shade on our rig rolled up inside valance requiring two hands to pull it down. Had to reach up inside valance to get ends in order to pull it down. Used an old awning light hanger - split short length of tubing - slipped slit tubing over end of hanger - pulled end cap - inserted in open channel and re-installed end cap. Shade now has a handle that hangs down below edge of the valance.
