I didn't want it to extend out past the wall.

Added insulation/radiant barrier behind front cap

Okay, I got tired of the radiant heat pouring in the front cap, and heating up the compartments over the windshield at the front of the RV. I used my infra-red thermometer to read the surface temperature of the front cabinet, and was astounded it was that hot at 9am in the morning. Plus, the A/C was set at 80*F in the coach, and it was running quite a bit. Granted, the front of the coach was facing east, and the sun was directly on it, but you could still feel the heat radiating from the front.

The temperature inside the cabinets was quite a bit higher, since it was right behind the front cap. The only insulation provided was about 3/8" of a foam on the back of the front cap.

Insulation added to front cap

So here is the double bubble, double radiant barrier I fit into the rear of the front cap, behind the front cabinets. Significant lower temperature, and no more infrared heat felt on your head...

No, I didn't have any problem. There were screws in some, and a couple had those staples from a staple gun to hold them in. I just carefully pried them off and pulled out the old staples.

I used screws to replace the panels. I found that a large amount of heat was coming from the area where the front cap attaches to the roof. There was a gap between the roof and the ceiling where the hot air was coming from. I cut a piece of the radiant barrier and slid it back in that gap, which tapered down towards the sides of the coach. That stopped any hot air ingress into the windshield area. Man what a difference in the front of the coach!!! I noticed the AC units work less now also!

My driveway faces east. When we were loading up the RV and then sitting in the seat, our heads were getting hot from the infrared heat escaping through. I decided to see what I could do. Lots of difference now!

I have two rolls of Reflectix that would work perfectly for that. I guess I have to add that to the list of things to do........ which seems to keep growing. lol
