I-15 through Virgin River Gorge (Arizona Strip) was a totally unexpected treat. It's as close as you could possibly get to driving through the Grand Canyon.

I have a couple of Michigan drives. First is Brockway Mountain drive, from Copper Harbor to Eagle Harbor in the UP. Pretty spectacular on a clear day.

Second is the Tunnel of Trees (M-119), that runs along a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Harbor Springs (or maybe Petosky) to Cross Village. You want to do this one during the fall color change.

Nope - parked at the motel (Deals Gap) and took the motorbike. I have seen pictures of semis that have tried it and needed to get towed out.

Wards Ferry road in CA is worth having a look at, especially in a 36' overwide motorhome like I did it in

Coming from the UK all the drives in US are exciting. So far we have done Alaska, Canada, Hwy 101, Going to the Sun road, Blue Ridge Parkway and next month heading for the Natchez Trace.
We are heading east from Phoenix and would like to take a leisurely drive through north Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas,Mississippi. One worrying thing is we are told we have to go through "Tornado Alley" should we worry or just keep an eye on the weather channel

Weather channel, and the "sky", ...... however weather stations always give the "county", where the warning exists. Most people ,(non residents), don,t know what county they are in, so best keep a state map handy.

This is great advice, Tom!

While traveling thru Arkansas last spring, we were parked one exit away from Mayflower, and a terrible tornado killed at least 16 there. Then, on the way back thru Arkansas, our weather app was warning us of an approaching tornado, but we were not sure which county we were in. Luckily, the State Patrol put a roadblock on the interstate and we all watched as the tornado crossed about a mile south of us. Then, as if those were not enough, while approaching Dumas, Texas yet another F3 tornado forced us into a parking lot at the Walmart. Once inside, we were all huddled into a safe area, and the tornado passed overhead, damaging the roof but causing no injuries. Several houses behind the store were destroyed. I do not know about the rest of you, but a moho is the LAST place we want to be during a tornado! We will pay much more attention.

Here are two more:

North Shore All-American Scenic Drive : Explore Minnesota

And:

Historic Columbia River Highway Scenic Byway | Travel Oregon

Not for the faint of heart in a motorhome & car trailer (ask me how I know). We did this as a lark a few years back and had a spectacular view at the Rowena Overlook. This was the main route until I-84 was built. The guard rails at the edge of the switchback turns look like 6 x 6 boards (one level only).
