Mother nature just don't like me!

Bought this 30 yr old Alpenlite 5th wheel. Mainly because of all the big windows
Had a lot of water damage, so first on the agenda was pull everything off the roof and reseal, butyl tape under, then lap seal and eternabond. Got the interior just about refurbed, and was working on the last cabinet update today, when up came a hard rain, and the roof vent in a new section of ceiling started
pouring water on the carpet. As soon as it let up, grabbed an 8' fiberglass ladder, leaned it up against the back and started up, and one leg broke clear off. Luckily, I was able to grab on and get down safely (I'm 77 don't need to fall), found another ladder and went up, found a dent clear through the aluminum roof a little larger than a golf ball. wife said, "I picked this limb up off the ground this morning, right beside the camper". Got the tree trimmer on the way. Thought I could see the light at the end of the tunnerl - now I'm not so sure!

Coulda' been worse?..... Hopefully you can make the roof repair and get the inside cleaned and dried before any additional damage. Do what you have to do, step back and take a rest and look at what you've accomplished. Things usually look better after a good nights rest.

The Old Man 76, hang in there, sounds like you are getting close to getting a rig ready to hit the road. You will be so happy when its fially finished and you guys are out there having a great time.
Good luck on the rest of your upgrades.
Know what you are going through. I bought a very large truck camper. I knew it had a leak. Took me awhile to find it. And apparently it had leaked for a long time. I ended up rebuilding part of the curbside wall. Not an issue for me, I am a retired carpenter.
Good luck
