Motorhome in strange Oregon crash

Some things just defy logic.

A plan hatched alongside a highway 35 miles outside of Eugene Sunday night must have seemed like a good one in the moment.
But what happened there has gone down in Oregon State Police annals as one of the most bizarre incidents any state trooper's ever encountered.
Oh, and it took place in Nimrod.
Enough said.

Five people who had been riding inside a motor home packed with 11 people and dogs pushed the motor home -- stalled on the road -- off the highway.
They sure did.
It went right down an embankment.
"Being inside would be like being inside of a dryer," said Lt. Gregg Hastings, a state police spokesman.
Six people and several dogs were trapped inside the home, and it took rescuers 45 minutes to get them out. Four people were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
"I knew we had a crash," Hastings said Monday. "But at first I knew nothing of the circumstances. Then I read the report today. I've never heard anything like it. It was very unusual given all the circumstances. It looks like there was someone under the influence trying to steer the home off the road.
"At a certain point," Hastings said, "there was no more road."
Troopers said the rig's driver, Mary Louise Wragge, one of those injured, was cited for: driving while under the influence of intoxicants, ten counts of recklessly endangering another person, three counts of fourth-degree assault, driving with a suspended license and driving uninsured.
The incident began about 7 p.m. when a trooper was sent to check out a report of a possible drunk driver behind the wheel of an older motor home on Oregon 124E near Nimrod.
Before the trooper arrived, the motorhome had been pushed off the embankment.
"Yes," Hastings said, "very unusual."

There was someone over here in SoCal that drove an RV drunk and slammed into an apartment building. That was maybe 1 month or so ago. If I remember right the only one hurt that time was the drunk driver.

Love the professionalism of todays media in providing the whole story.
In high school one learns to ask Who, What, When, Where, Why,

Who where the other 10 people?, What make & year of RV?, Where was the RV coming from and going to?, Where were the people from - city, state or country? Was the RV legally registered and in what state?,

Easiest way to shorten a story for the space available and beat your deadline .. Leave out the facts.
