Motorhome Insurance

We are new to RVing, and wonder if anyone could recommend a good dependable company to insure our RV with. Thanks for any suggestions.

We went with Allstate since they insure our home and autos.

Erie Insurance Group, Be sure to read every bit of the policy. Look up other forums on it. Some things aren't covered so ask.

Insurance is based on lots of things - the state you have it insured thru, your driving record, any other drivers records, sometimes your credit report, what type of vehicle it is. Lots of things can make a difference in cost. IE same 2 drivers, same vehicle, same coverage and our costs went from $1k in MI to about $550 in CA.

I use National Interstate. They have very competetive rates and their service is outstanding. On one minor incident $1500 repair, they had the check to me before the MH was even finished.

I had my 5th wheel trailer insured thru State Farm along with my home, my auto as well as the 3/4 T Diesel truck (tow vehicle) and I cut the trailer premium in half by getting Good Sam Insurance (actually thru Allied Insurance). I do not think State Farm wants RV products as my agent told me they would not insure it if it was on a summer/permanent site.

I just traded the fiver and used Allied/Good Sam to insure the Class C and the premium is quite inexpensive.

I have not had any claim experience so I do not know if they are good to deal with, however Allied is a reputable company

Have Blue Sky and very happy with them. Went shopping for rates when I bought the MH last year and Blue Sky was by far the least expensive. I just had my first claim for $12,000 and they paid very quickly with no hassle.
