Moving!

Until this past week, even though we've traded RVs previously from smaller to larger as when we traded the micro-mini Toyato Dolphin, which we lived in full time for three years, to the Coachman Santara Class C and then from it to the first Class A, I had not realized, or had forgotten, how much work is involved in changing units until we just recently traded down in size from the 37 footer to the 27 ft Winnebago Vista RV. It was like moving from one upstairs, one bedroom, furnished apartment with garage storage into another upstairs, one bedroom, furnished apartment with garage storage. I haven't worked this hard or hurt this bad from the bottom of my feet to my sholders since we sold our 1900 sq ft two story town house and moved most of our belongings into storage, and then eventually moving into our current 1049 sq ft one story town house. It was during this move that DW and I were trying to decide if we wanted to go full time in an RV or buy another stick house and where we wanted to live. We lived in the Tiffin for just over a year between here and in deep east Texas. We set up the Tiffin for full timeing and added to it over that year. I had not realized how much stuff I had loaded into both it's internal and external storage during that period. Even though it's been over a year and a half since we decided to come back to and stay here in Vegas with another stick house, I had never really converted the storage on the Tiffin after a year of being full time back to being a "weekend and short trip" unit. It has taken me the better part of 9 days to unload & clean it from one end to the other, sort, consolidate, and/or eliminate unneeded items and then arrange and load the new RV with other than the parishable items. Later this week we are going to go through the new unit again and see what else we can consolidate and/or eliminate to reduce the amount we are carring around and hopefully get back to the type of RVing that we grew to love over the past twenty-four plus years. Don't think I want to do this again any time soon. Never more quoth the Raven, never more!

I feel your pain. Litterally! We sold most of our stuff in March from the house and moved into a 31' Class C and began fulltiming. Even tho I purged at every opportunity, we never found a place for everything. So, we traded for a 38' Class A and there is so much room and closet space etc., I am still putting things away. Moving from the C to the A was just as hard and just as painful as it was from the house to the C. Whew, is all I have to say. Age maybe???? lol. Hoping you enjoy your new rig.

It took us nearly 24 full hours to move from out 28ft travel trailer, to a 33ft fifth wheel. We ended up with a lot of things we just didn't need in the newer unit (the room AC) and things that couldn't stay the same (toolbox in the truck, now blocking the fifth wheel). It was a very interesting 3 weeks, till we could finally unload the extra baggage, and start moving in a bit more from the house.

When we moved from the class C to the class A. The C was in Ohio and the A was Nevada. I boxed up everything in the C (17 boxes) and shipped it all to Nevada. This included full set of tools. Borrowed a truck from one of our offices there to deliver it to the CG and began the task of putting everything away. Glad I did it though.

Stan, sure glad it was you and not me. That's one of the reasons I plan on keeping my present coach until the paint blows off.

Since Nevada is my home base for retirement, where and from what dealer did you pick up your Class A. Over the past 30 plus years, I've managed to purchased from all three of the current major dealerships here in Las Vegas.
