I always wanted to 'drive' my TC to Alaska, but it has not happened yet! I did fly to Anchorage 2 weeks ago, 7 of us rented 2 cars and drove to Denali, then on to Fairbanks, then some secondary roads back to Anchorage. Hopped a plane to Kodiak Island, then a way smaller plane to Larsen Bay Lodge where we met up with 14 others (we filled the Lodge) to do 5 days of fishing. Here is a link to some pictures I took while there (147 of them), click on 'slide show' to see them all.

Will I do it again? YES. In fact I am planning another trip for late Aug/early September 2008. Let me know if you are interested in going there.

Looks like my kind of trip. I'll check Larsen's website. But what's a "TC"???

I just drove up to northern Ontario and flew to Pine Portage Lodge on Kabinakagami Lake for a weeks fishing. My 28th fishing trip to northern Ontario.

Thanks Jerry some great pics reminds me of my days up in Alaska back in 57-58 working in ACS stations all over interior of that great state.
In Big Delta they had their first albino buffalo in 58 took pics in dried up river bed on Richardson Highway. Fished rivers around Copper Center and on highway to Fairbanks.
Those bush pilots were young back than also, in fact flew with young fellow in my unit from LA. out of Merrill field airport in Anchorage. Only way to get around that state. The wildlife are just off the road in most cases when we were up there.
Thanks again sure brings back some good times and stories.
