My head just exploded!!

I paid a visit to the local Texas DOT Drivers License office. Seems you can get a Class A drivers license with a 1 ton PU pulling a trailer over 10,000 pound rating. Gal said "we do it all the time". You need the title showing the rating of the truck plus title of trailer showing the rating and the trailer needs a current State Inspection sticker.

She also mentioned to obtain a Class A license in one of these large trucks you need to pass the air brake test. You can take the driving test in the 1 ton truck - then hop in the big truck and do the air brake test. Don't have to drive the "big rig".

My apologies to ALL for my very wrong past information on Texas Drivers License requirements.

Hey Don, would you mind keeping all that fallout down in Texas. Next thing you know Oklahoma will figure out they can make some more money that way and then we'll have to put up with the same thing. Then I won't be able to tell everyone how sorry I am that they have to do that ????
