My experience...Blue Beacon

During my 4800 mile adventure had the coach washed twice, after leaving SoCal. 1st time ever in Portage, WI, after driving 200 miles in rain...wait about an hour. Did full undercarriage spray, soft brush wash both coach and toad, citrus on coach rims, and rain ex application. $88.

2nd time in Kingman, AZ. Soft brush coach only mainly for the amount of bugs collected on front and top cap. 15 minute wait. $37.50.

Both experiences were great...some tipping helps IMHO. Had about 3 bugs on the windshield during trip home. Front end looked great. Following day interior cleaning. Put into storage clean. Ready for the next adventure.

I might be hesitant to put my brand new coach into this process...maybe pressure spray only.

Just my experience.

I have used Blue Beacon several times both on my fifth wheel and my Class A. Was always satisfied until the last time. Was on my was from Phoenix to Omaha last April and stopped at their location at York NE along I-80. This was the worst wash I have ever had. Don’t know if it was just this location? I’m in Bosie ID now and will have a mobil wash come to my site. I have a 43 foot RV and Blue charges about $65/75. The mobil guy quoted me $100 and it’s a hand wash and hand dry.

Like many other posts, some have good experiences and some not.

If I do have a bad experience, as I check the coach after pulling out, I will demand to back in or make them come outside to correct.

Hope you tried the Iron Skillet in Portage. Not bad for truck stop food now days.

I go there to veggie up during the winter months at their salad bar. I have found their menu food is good also.

One of these days I will take my camper there for a wash. Now that I know they did OK.

They did an OK job on our coach. Certainly not a detail. We also stopped at an independent RV/Truck wash in Pasco Washington. Most of the time I am trying to get the worst of the road grime off, which they do.

We've used them twice. 38 ft coach and 28 ft trailer was mid sixties. I've been pretty happy so far.

Stopped at the one in Barstow 3 weeks ago on my way to Colorado. I pulled in and went into pay. To my surprise the coach was done before I was even done paying. Walked back out to check there work and I could write my name on the side of the coach with the dirt left behind. Had them re-wash the coach. Second wash was better but still not very good.

We have used Blue Beacon twice. Once in Arizona and once near Tampa, Florida. Both times we had a wait of 30 minutes or more, but the service was good and the motorhome was clean. It was well worth it to us to not have to wash it ourselves. We would use them again.

We have used Blue Beacon in Milton ON, Woodstock ON, London ON, Jackson GA and each time we have been satisfied with their work.
We have a 32' Class A and get the Rain-X application each time.
The Jackson GA location's manager even met us just us just outside the exit door to ask if we were satisfied.
Yes, they are fast, but with 4-5 guys all working at the same time, and a supervisor watching over them, I would expect it to be done relatively quickly.
So far, very satisfied with all experiences at Blue Beacon and I will continue to use them when I can't do it myself.

So what’s the consensus? Tipping or not? We’re going to try out the Blue Beacon just north of Tampa next month. I’ve always taken care of this task myself but it is just too much work nowadays and way too hot right now.

I think we paid $55 in Las Vegas for our 35' RV (didn't include our toad, too cheap to run through a regular car wash). I was quite happy, I think I got far more than $55 worth of value.

I used Blue Beacon back when I was driving a big truck but never with the RV.
For the big truck it was mainly pressure wash and some brushing.
I've always been afraid of damage to the RV because of the roof air, awnings, TV/Radio and satellite antennas.
Are they still mainly a pressure wash and brush the front and sides?

I I would have to be desperate because the coach was extremely dirty before I’d use them. My fear is the use of the pressure water in compartment area is like the furnace vents and others because of lack of supervision. As for the tipping, I think people working in industry like that deserve a tip. I presume they pool them, and share them at the end of the day. Tipping in advance sometimes has moremore value than waiting till the jobs done.
