Red face My first rv

Hi, I have been looking for months for a class A for fulltiming. The used rvs that I have seen 2006 or 2007 are nice but much more then I can spend. I am going to see one that is a 2004 Pace Arrow for a good price and there is a new chevy engine with 2000 miles on it. They say they took really good care if it and have put on shocks, stabelizers and swaybars and has most of the features that i want. Is this worth looking at or is it too old. I'm very nervous about what I buy as I am a senior woman who will be traveling with my dog and this will be my condo on wheels. I want to go to the national parks and monuments and boondock mostly. Thanks in advance for your input.

A few steps you might follow.
1. If the RV fits your needs, have it professionally inspected for issues.
2. Ask for all books and maintenance records. We keep receipts for everything we do to our motor home. You should be looking for regular oil/filter changes, tire replacements Etc.
3. If you pass those two steps and are still interested, go to NADA.com and check the value of the RV. Also check others sources like Craigslist and papers for comparable asking prices.
4. Now you can start dickering about the price.
5. Meanwhile, search the RV you are interested in on this site for issues, likes etc.

Welcome aboard.
I wouldn't say a 2004 is to old for your 1st coach. Take your time shopping, there are plenty out there. As already mentioned try and get a maintenance record and have it inspected by a qualified technician. Hope all works out and you find the coach that is right for you. Enjoy and Be Safe!

Excellent advice above!! It's hard to resist the urge to buy once you "pet the puppy," but it's really smart to do your research. There are lots of "puppies" out there, and while the odds of the first one you've looked at being the right one is slim, you may have found it if you have done lots of leg work before getting to see this one. Still, I think thev_fox's #1 recommendation is the top priority--pay for an unbiased third party to inspect it with a fine-tooth comb. If he's worth the money, he will find some problems in a 2004 coach. If you are willing to deal with the problems, then you have the best data available to get a fair price.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for the good advice. I saw the RV and it was a complete mess on the inside and the outside was also so full of damages. Not this one.
I have seen so many RVs, when people are selling they make their ads sound so good but are a big dissappointment when viewing them. I have another one to see today...same model but 2005 and more money...I'll see
