Hello again! Just wondering if we are *supposed* to name her? We are going to, whether we're supposed to or not, but I am just curious if everyone does ~

We just purchase our first motorhome, name quickly became "Tink" since my wife likes Tinkerbell and I will be tinkering with it a lot. Our old TT was small compared to all the RVs at the campgrounds so it was affectionately called The Weenie Camper.

My 16'TT is the Land Dinghy since it's too small to be a land yacht.

RVnewbies:

There's no "supposed to" rule, but many RV'rs DO name their rigs. Ours is the same as our forum handle, Chickadee!! (Won't bore ya with why).

By the way, after 5 years of full time RV'ing, we've kind of come to believe that RV's are a little like flower plants and other plants ya hear about. That is, ya gotta talk to em regularly to keep em healthy, happy, and going strong !!
OH!...and...pat em on the behind once and awhile .

My husband and I have been tslkig about this for the longest time. We were deciding what to name our coach and finally my oldest son Dominick came up with the name we call Daddy's Toy and for one of his gifts for Christmas i'm having it painted on the coach at the front of it in Red. Well when you own a Coach or a TT or a Rig. As a loving joke and to show love I would name her. People may laugh but in the end it a grat feeling

I have not named our 22 year old Superchief yet. Wanted to wait until I could go on ONE outing where everything worked as expected. If it could talk I suspect that up until now it might think it's name was "D*mnit". This past weekend we did make it through the entire trip and everything worked as expected. No water heater issues, no furnace issue, no engine issues. So the time may be coming where I have to come up with a real name. It will have to be something that reflects that it's rather homely on the outside, but nice on the inside. Sort of like "Grumpy" .. puts up a gruff facade but is really all heart.

I call ours Lucy - after Lucille Ball in the Long, Long Trailer. When we travel up the pass, towing the trailer full of toys and she seems to be struggling, I lovingly rub her dashboard and tell her it will be ok. My DH thinks I'm nuts....after 22 years, I think he should be used to it...

"Bigfoot". It started out being BASOB, but that was a little difficult to use around kiddos.

We call ours "Princess". Bought her in Colorado last month, out ran a snowstorm in the rain and wind and drove her home to Missouri with absolutely no trouble.
Pretty good for a vintage 1990 Sportscoach Pathfinder 270. This is the best little motor home we've ever had!
