Natchez Trace Parkway

Some of you have expressed interest in traveling the Natchez Trace Parkway. This is a good video about it!

Thanks for that. We did the northern part down to Tupelo last year and will do the remainder this spring.

We have used the following book "Guide to the Natchez Trace Parkway". Gives lots of detail info and driving info as well as near campgrounds. This is a must buy if you are going to travel on the parkway. It describes: travel by car, bike, find best food, attractions, historic sites, 100+ destinations and highlights. I have ref. where to get the book below. $9.99 on Amazon.

We have The Trace running through our county. We just use it for 10 mile stretches. And sometimes we'll use it to get to Tupelo--about 70 miles total one way @ 50 mph.

I cannot tell you how many critters we've been close to hitting at night--mainly deer. You can see the shine of many animals' eyes when traveling The Trace in the night.

The Trace is nice if you're looking for a quiet travel experience. But it's a long way to Natchez. I'm more inclined to take the easier 4 lane highways running close by.

Yup, you're right! I would not travel it at night!
