Need A/C electrical advice

Taking our shakedown trip in a new to us (2006 Discovery) and encountered a problem and not sure of next step. When running the rear a/c unit it comes up slow. You can hear it "hum" for a couple minutes before the fan will come to speed. On automatic if it shuts down it starts back up the same way. Front unit runs fine all the time. Today running only the rear and after a couple hours everything (TV, lights, etc) went off like the main tripped. Fuse box under bed was making a humming sound. Within a minute everything came back on. I went ahead and flipped the rear a/c breaker and gave not turned it back on. Everything else is working fine. EMS display in basement shows proper volts on both legs. Thoughts on what is likely problem? Thanks!

I think that was it! This morning turned it to fan only and same thing.....buzz for a few seconds and the slow start up. Will replace fan capacitor tomorrow. Many thanks for the help.

Other posibility is motor shaft nearly sized up but my first suspect is ye old start cap.. Go with a soft-start while you are at it. (Same price after all).
