Need a Good Table-Top Insect Repellant

After all of these years, I've yet to find an outdoor insect repellant device that works well while sitting outside. I don't like repellant body sprays but I will resort to them as a last measure. I have found citronella candles to be somewhat ineffective. They can also be messy to store if the wax gets hot and leaks out. I'm primarily looking for something that I can put on a table while sitting under my awning. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Craig

A Thermocell works great when there's no wind.

Off Clip on Mosquito Repellant works great. These are non messy and work off a simple battery. I use them when I am using my telescope at night. You can lay it on the table or clip it on you cloths. They are cheap and work great.

I'm presuming you're talking about mosquitos. An oscillating fan. It doesn't have to be roaring. A 3-5 kt breeze is enough to overpower most small insects.

I have a lot of experience with tent camping but just purchased a Class C. Thermocells work really well as Johnhicks stated. I will use one outside and they work great down south if you bring No-see-ums into a tent with you. Fire it up for about 10 minutes and no bugs left to bite you. Don't know if this is a problem in a motorhome staying in a very buggy area.

We're in Michigan at present and the news is always mentioning the last new study on the subject. We listened with great anticipation of a new product that would make our outdoor life free of the Michigan Air Force! The scientific studys that tested all of the products that claim to be the best came down to a fan!

I agree with the fan it works for us, we use a small box fan on low.

Just a fan of about any kind is what they said. We use a antique Westinghouse fan from back in the early fiftys. We also have a 1915 Wagner brass blade fan we use on the inside but not for misquotes. LOLOLOLOL

New to rv, but, when I was sailing (actually at anchor) in Florida I used a coil that was lit. It stood on a little base and would put that in a metal cake pan for safety. Being at anchor, bow was to the wind, coil in the cabin me snug in the cocpit. basically saying I was down wind. They worked great especially off the mangrove islands full of skeeters.
