Check the date codes on the tires. Any tire dated 2004 to 2006 would have to be replaced.

Seems about 4X overpriced to me. You can get a '02 36ft class A with 25K miles on it in good condition for not much more than that money.
If the paint and interior jobs were done right, and NOTHING needs fixing (look at tires), $5500 is in the ball park.

I agree with Ramblin its way over priced. For that kind of money you can get one much newer and half the miles.

I have to disagree - I don't think you will find a newer high end diesel pusher anywhere for that price. Now, whether you might be as well or better off with a newer but lesser quality coach is a different question. Certainly he could get a newer, gas chassis coach for that price. All depends on what he wants.
A '92 American Eagle was a premier coach in its day, but that day was a long time ago. If it is looking good and suits your needs, I think somewhere in the $20k-$25k ballpark is an ok price for it. In my opinion that's about rock bottom on that class of coach.

I disagree. Newer is not allways better No matter the miles.
Miles matter much less than condition, esp. with a diesel.
(You couldn't pay me to have a computer operated diesel.)

I was talking about a gas coach, not diesel. Should have done a little research.
Nevertheless, the key phrase from the OP's question to me was "would this be a good starter coach"? I'd have to say there are not many 20 year old coaches that would be good starter coaches, unless the person buying them has a flair for troubleshooting and a keen love for fixing stuff.
"Starter coach" implies to me that the OP wants to buy something and go camping with minimal work required. There aren't many 20 year old coaches to fit that bill.

"Starter coach" to me implies somebody wants to try RVing without a major $$ investment. Then maybe trade up if they decide to stay with it.
If the budget is around $20k, any coach you get is going to potentially need a fair amount of TLC.

I think for $20k it is not too bad. Like said above if the work that was done is decent it should be a good looking coach. As long as everything works, like appliances, a/c's, plumbing, electrical, it would be a good deal for that price. At that price if you decide you don't like a class A you won't be taking a big bath on it. Good luck.

I don't know I bought an 86 winnie 27 ft for $2800 tax and plates included and everything works great and it has less miles. The idea is spend as little as possible incase you decide you don't like camping.

book it (NADA) and if every thing works, and I mean every thing, camara
monitor, ac, heaters ect, chk. date on tires if over 5yrs old ur looking at
3 grand.with in a couple of yrs. Anyway what ever the price NADA gives
u take 15 to 20% off.One thing for sure its not a sellers market. The market
is flat and has been for a long time. I would suggest looking for some thing
94 to 96 then do the 15to 20% 0ff. lots of luck

my first coach was $7k. I put about $7k of top shelf parts & accessories into it... not including my labor. It was a 10yr old, one owner gasser.
Learned alot and it made buying my next coach a breeze.

If all the systems work and the tires and batteries are good, I see no problem buying a well maintained 1992 coach. Ask for maintenance records and have a professional check it out. I'm guessing that if the paint job and interior was done professionally, the current owned has at least $10k-$12k in the updating, maybe even more. The miles for a diesel coach is nothing to be concerned about, sounds to me you may have for a jewell!

He certainly could get into a gas chassis coach for less money. The OP hasn't said whether he is specifically looking for a diesel and a luxury class coach, or whether he just stumbled onto this one and hadn't given much thought to what type and amenity level he will be buying.
