It's been sold for years at RV shows and rallies. It was primarily advertised as a repair tape for radiator hoses. I found that it works well when attaching sewer hoses to connectors. Put a couple of wraps around the connector and the slide the sewer hose over the connector. It acts like a gasket and prevents leaks.

I've got a Spartan IFS chassis and one of the ball joint boots has started to crack. Do you think that this tape would repair that?? Has anybody tried it for that application?

Have a nice day - Darrel

Darrel.....I don't think it will work well over a ribbed surface. Look around, they make two piece boots that you can use to replace your boot. If you can't find a specific boot, look at the two piece CV (constant velocity drive shaft) boots for front wheel drive cars. They come in different sizes and might fit your ball joint. They use a one time clamp that could be squeezed enough to fit your ball joints. 2 piece cv boot kit - Bing Images

I've been using this stuff for years, marketed as "Rescue Tape". I am a plumber and there are occasions where I can't fix something properly right away and use this stuff to buy me a few days. I have even used it on leaking copper water lines with internal pressure above 80psi and it has held until I had time to come back to remove it and make a proper repair. I even wrapped a split bronze ball valve with it once, and it held back the water for three weeks. This is great stuff.

I used lots of this repairing Coast Guard boats - it had a small blue stripe of adhesive in the middle so it required a half lap to seal. can be hard to wrap but works great when done right.

"Rescue Tape"

This tape has been available for many years (decades?) at marine stores. It was originally developed as rigging tape- used to wrap standing rigging splices and connections on sailboats so that the sails would not snag on rough edges and tear.
Been using it for years now. Glad it's finally available at "non-marine" prices!!

I buy my supply of Rescue Tape at a large flea market we attend each fall. It cost $10 for 3 rolls last year.
