New Android App

Hello folks.
I've been looking for an app that provides free information on sani-dump locations and all the ones I've found have pestering demands for cash or crippling restrictions.

As a result I wrote one for myself which I'm happy to share with you.

The app is called RV-Assistant and can be found here https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ll.RVAssistant

This app covers the US.

I also found a list of addresses for European dump sites and created a european version of the app which can be found here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...percompanioneu

Please feel free to use these apps in your travels. I'm working on iPhone and Windows Phone versions too.

I think that is a wonderful service that you have provided for us but I'm feeling left out. I have an IPhone. Are you working on a version that is compatible with an IPhone?
Much appreciated.

iPhone and Windows Phone

I'm working on apps for both platforms now. I'd really appreciate it if people would look at the existing one and give me suggestions on how to improve it. I'm thinking driving directions?

Let me know which device and android version yuo're using and i'll test it on their emulator. You need a minumum Android 2.3 to run it.

Hey Bob, It loads and launches on my cheap Chinese 7" tablet running Android 4.0.3, but isn't very useful since the tablet doesn't have GPS, only Google locating via wireless network. Looks good otherwise.

Good job.... Seems to work well on the little 7" samsung with android 2.3.5...
will test it on the Xoom and HTC thunderbolt tomorrow...

fyi, when using the search icon and the location forces the arrow to point 'down', the arrow is hidden behind the icon....

dump station icons on default zoom are SMALL - but zooming in allows these old eyes to see them

and in the future, directions, size limitations, and charges would be great...

The arrow problem is an Android bug. If you scroll the items down and back up it draws correctly. I'm trying to improve that.

Thanks for testing on different machines. I only have a few devices, an Alcatel phone and a cheap chineese 10 inch tablet which does have GPS and the variour emulators,

I am looking at the directions API now. Watch this space :-)
