We have the Carefree awnings as well. The bedroom slide cover is splitting at the stationary seam. I plan to stick with the acrylic fabric from Carefree. I would have just removed the fabric, had the seam restitched and reinstalled(maybe an option for you), but the PO punched a hole in the cover and tape repaired it.

The only trouble we've had with the main awning was the roller cap wallowed out(only one flat on the shaft hole) so the awning would not retract. Of course, Carefree doesn't sell just the cap so one has to buy the motor as well. They did however, upgrade the assy. with two flats so it will probably last forever. I changed it myself and have had no other problems. Bob

Dieselclacker, Thanks for the reply. Will take the cap of the end of cover and check the groove size. Carefree wanted me to take the coach to a repair dealer and will not sell replacement fabric direct. Have instructions to replace same, just need to uncover the coach in prep for a trip to south Texas end of Feb.

Scenic Route, Info is greatly appreciated. Just seems alittle rediculous that Carefree of Colorado requires a dealer. Broomfield, Co. (their HQ) is only 20 mi away. Restiching option is what we will attempt.

Good call. The stitching seems to be the weakest link. Using a UV resistant thread is the best option. Good luck with the repair. Bob
