Smile New from NY-researching buying/renting first?

Hi Everyone,

My husband is from the Alabama Gulf Coast, I am from NY. We both enjoy traveling. Our biggest problem is that we have 12 cats and while some are fine having people in to look after them, we'd like to be able to take 4 of them with us who really do better with us.

We are also considering renting an RV first to see how it would work out for us and how it would be. I haven't the faintest on how to do this and if it would be too expensive to pursue, even without the cats. We are in Queens, NY right outside of NYC proper.

We've seen some Class C's that we like-the ones with the additonal bunk beds because we could use that space for a litterbox area.

As our goal is also to move back to Alabama, we were thinking that having the motor home would be beneficial to moving with the cats and making it easier, as opposed to putting them in carriers in our jeep (they would fit or we would make 2 trips or have someone go with us) However having an RV down there would be so helpful-we might even be able to live in it til we bought a home-though it would be a tight fit with us and the cats.

Has anyone rented for the first time out of the NY area and how did they go about it?

Thank you,

Good luck in your search.
Hate to be a wet blanket , but rental companies may have a pet policy, a Google search would provide a list of RV rental agencies in your area, and they should have web sites, listing their units available.
