Sorry no pictures, last Oct/Nov we took and then left our 5W at friends in Tucson. We were planning on leaving ID for AZ sometime after the first of the year, now it looks like we will have to wait until the middle of Feb before leaving for Tucson for the rest of the winter.
My RV shower set up had “the typical showerhead on a hose thing”
This is from memory-
The Moen valve that I used was a 4 port valve. The 2 side ports are for the normal H &C water connections, the top port would normally be connected to the stand pipe inside the wall and the home shower head. The bottom port would go down to the Tub diverter spout.
The top port was plugged with a Brass pipe plug. I used Brass for all connections because I didn’t want any rust.
I screwed a short nipple with a 90* ELL into the bottom port and oriented the ELL toward the inside of the shower (remember that the connecting Chrome pipe has to be lower than the large diameter escutcheon plate on the inside), A second smaller dia. hole was drilled in the shower wall to line up with the ELL. Remember to MEASURE more than once and only DRILL once! Then I used a Chrome nipple to go through the shower wall, a Chrome escutcheon plate and another 90* Chrome ELL pointing down. The plumbing shop had a small Chrome vacuum breaker that screwed into that ELL to which I connected “the typical shower on a hose thing”. I used the vacuum breaker for 2 reasons; it facilitates draining the water system when winterizing and also reduces the amount of “cold” water trapped in the bottom of the shower hose. The above information is why I prefer to work with my local Plumbing Shop that specializes Home Repairs rather than the “Big Box stores”. I think that if you take this epistle to your plumbing shop they will understand what I did.
On my unit the shower backs up to the TV in the LR. When I removed the TV I found an access hole which I enlarged to give me more working space then covered the hole with a larger piece of plywood.
