I'd be happy to pay the bogus fee if the golf course operators would allow me to pay the resident greens fees...instead of the 4-500% higher that tourists pay...so I say, Nevada, what do I get for coming and bolstering your economy.

Unfortunately, I think I can already answer my own question.

Wasn't there a revolution in your country a few centuries back about "no taxation without representation ."
So Nevada is thinking about adding a Head Tax to any tourist to have the privilege of extended stay in their state.
Is Nevada going broke that it needs to create new taxes for revenue?

Those doofuses in the NV Assembly don't get it. There are plenty of other warm states that don't charge ridiculous fees and taxes and are happy to have us for the winter. Some even cater to us. They count on us to boost their local economies. The best part is, we have the wheels to take us there. Bu-bye Nevada.

Snowbirding in Texas is looking better all the time. That is the only state I know of where permanent residents smile at you and welcome you to their state. It's cheaper to winter in Texas too.

How would authorities even know one was in Nevada more than 30 days?

They will hire locals to drive around in golf carts and chalk tires and attempt to pay bounties to snowbirds to rat out each other.

Bye bye tourist dollars and that ain't chump change. Homeland Security, that bloated bureaucracy that seems accountable to no one, wants to charge us a toll when entering the U.S. We have been assured this asinine idea won't fly but who knows.

I was in Laughlin in Oct 2006, parked the 5er at the Riverside. Went in for breakfast, came out and a rent a cop on a bike said he was just about to wright me a ticket. I was at the rear of an empty parking. I and many others have not been back.

There was a group of 5 couples that used to take the gamblers flight from Spokane to the Riverside, a few times a year, we don't go anymore!

Unless I stay in one place for 31 or more days, who is to say I have been in NV that long. Who says one did not cross over into another state for a day or more?
