New Old RV Purchase

Greetings All,

We are looking to purchase a Class A Gas Motorhome in the 30' range. We found one we really like and need a little help with a couple of questions.

It is a new 2015 (so it is about 2 years old since the 2017s are out). What kind of issues should we be aware of since it has been sitting on the lot for a while? Should we steer clear or proceed?

Will the belts, hoses, tires, etc degrade in that 2 year time frame?
Can I trust the dealer to give it a thorough inspection before delivery?
What kind of discount from MSRP would be a good deal - right now it is priced about 25% off MSRP which I think is a little high for a 2 year old model.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

depending on brand name. a person can get 25 percent off New 2016,

a 2015, ask for 35 percent or WALK. and a Free extra warranty. for it Sitting.

and IF you purchase it.. make sure you do the WALK THRU slowly.. and check everything DOES WORK. Before driving it OFF the LOT.

and Welcome to the forum.

I am not sure what you are looking to buy, but I am selling my 2015 Thor ACE 30.2 and it hasn't been sitting in a lot for two years. It has full body paint, 15,000 miles, stabilizer and sumo springs installed. We are in CA and are asking 82k. Toad (2015 Honda Fit with tie package already assembled) is also negotiable if you are looking for a one stop shop. Click image for larger version

Be aware the batteries are most likely ruined and will not hold a decent charge......dealers are very bad about keeping the units plugged-in 24x7 especially for two years. Not a huge deal...but something to be aware of.

Thanks for the responses -- very good items to look for.
Sorry, Jason -- Thor 30.2 is not the layout we want.
