New RV: Dealer negotiation tips?

If the lowest bidder is at or near the market price point, this is good. Otherwise that is the point where negotiation begins for some of us. My ears burn for a long time if I leave money on the table.

Your right, there are many similarities between car and rv dealers and many differences. There is also so much that goes into what a dealer can and cannot do based on their individual business model ect ect ect that I can't even begin to scratch the surface. Ive run both car and rv stores and I will leave you with one thought. If I don't get at least 30% off msrp, I keep looking till I get it and I have never not been able to get it on everything from a travel trailer to a super c to my current class a. I also did it without much trouble. I hope they made a decent profit. I thought they were more than fair deals. If you have a trade I would be happy with anything over 80% of average nada without ads. More than a deal when you try selling such a high priced item on your own and having to deal with unqualified people that can't finance or afford a stick of gum. Shop your credit sources and if the dealer can beat your rate which they most likely will, take it. Problem solved. Ive done this crap every day for 28 years and the last thing I want to do on my day off is quibble over a few bucks. Not worth the time energy and gas to go shop for weeks or months on end.

I can understand that.
I never quibble over a few bucks either. But negotiation is typically done in one session. So, if they are much over market price, it has always been worth my time to close the gap.
