New shower faucet

Our shower faucet began to leak, so I replaced it with a new one. Here’s the problem; before the replacement the old faucet had decent to good volume coming out of the shower head. Now with the new replacement is poor at best. Does anyone know how to alter the new faucet or a brand that puts out more/high volume? Thank you.

Depending on brand and style, there is a flow restrictor. Usually in the head or flexible hose itself. If the shower head in on a hose, take the head off and look up inside the hose. If your lucky, it's a plastic insert. It also might be in the head itself, again, depends on make and model.

Telling us what you bought might help.

Faucet ID

The brand is Dura faucet model DF-SA100A-CP. Also, all I replaced was the faucet/mixing valve. I used the original hose and shower head.

I don't think those faucets came with any type of flow restriction. Try turning on the faucet with no hose attached. (put your hand over the output so you don't spray water everywhere.) See what type of volume your getting. If low volume, take the handles off and stem out of the body (be careful, most is all plastic and you can cross thread easily) and check to see if any debris is clogging the line. After that, I'd contact the mfg.

A quick look at that faucet's specs turned up this, "Specifications: washer 0 2.2 GPM at 60 psi, 8.3 L/min at 414 KPA.

Without seeing a parts diagram, the above sounds like there is a flow restricter in the faucet.
