Newbie needs quick answer to question

This is our first night in the rv and we are at a truck stop with generator running. When coach battery is on, the lights don't flicker, but when we shut the coach battery off they start flickering? Are we supposed to leave the coach battery on when we are using the generator? Right now we have heat using propane. And fan for heat running off of generator. This is so hard!!! Lol

When you are using the gen the 12 volt needs to be on. Will stay charged that way also

You always leave the battery cut off switch on when coach is in use your furnace and TV, FRIDGE will need the 12v's they supply. You really do not need the Gen unless your using micro, the TV maybe 12v or you have a inverter.
You have a new coach and the batteries are new when you arrive at a campground it still stays on so they can be fully charged and when your on the road the engine alternator will be charging the batteries,
Only time you would put switch off is when in storage but if you park at home plug your shore line into 110 outlet and the batteries will always be charged.
Congratulations on the new coach enjoy and safe miles for you.
