Hello,
Can't help to wonder what the campfire icon means under some members name?
Thanks
Dan

The number of campfires that appear under your avatar picture are determined by the number of posts you make. Here's how it works:

0 to 9 = No fire
10 to 74 = 1 campfire
75 to 249 = 2 campfires
250 to 499 = 3 campfires
500 to 999 = 4 campfires
1000 to 2499 = 5 campfires
2500 to 4999 = 6 campfires
5000 to 9999 = 7 campfires
10,000 and up = 8 campfires

Isn't it a forest fire after 10,000?

Most of us that have been around from day 1 had many posts (3500+ of mine) in archive from many years ago and were left behind and lost when we switched to this new software and platform.

We have 1 member, DriVer , over the 10,000 mark & a few others quickly closing in on 10,000 posts. Disregard the 3 members that are showing over 4 billion posts - some software fluke there.

Really though, there are many more long time members that would be over 10,000 posts because, as Mike eluded to, vast quantities of older posts were wiped out when we converted to the new software in 2009. Long-time members saw their post counts drop, some dramatically, after the changeover. So, for the charter members, the numbers or campfires don't accurately reflect their post counts.

The campfires also provide to our members & visitors:
1. Warmth from us when you visit
2. Light when the RV tunnel is dark.
3. Food for thought when we're confused.
4. You have to bring your own marsh mellows of course.
Any others you all can think of ?
Safe Travels...

kcslaw,

Think about the subject of the post you want to make & put it in the Forum you think most closely matches the subject. If you have a question about a specific brand, put it in the mfr brand under the Owner's Corner Forum. If you have a question about your platform, put it in the Chassis Club Forum. If you have a question about your fridge or furnace, put it in the RV Systems Forum. Having problems navigating the site, put your question in the Website Tech Support Forum. It's pretty easy. If you don't know, place it where you think it's best & a Moderator or Administrator can move it to where it would get the best response.
