VAPOR 3000, Very nice Coach at a great price, I am looking at rvonline.com and rvtrader.com
Do you recommend any other places I should look to find a good deal
THANKS AGAIN
I happened to find this Newmar on Craig's List within 200 miles of my house. eBay is also a good format to find used Class A and other RV's. I have also used the sources you mentioned.

I always buy from the owner, that is to say I never buy from a dealer. I look for owners that do their own maintenance and store their MH indoors. I also like the older coaches because they don't have engine emission equipment. I always look for side radiator coaches.

I noticed a nice 2008 Tiffin w/11K miles, new tires and batteries on eBay for $125K. The item number is 301670191409 which you can search if your are interested.

In the "mine is better club", we got a 2005 Newmar Kountry Star 3910 two years ago. Still think these are the top choice of RV lines.

Not perfect, but the floor plan and layout sell it, and you can't go wrong with Newmar.

A gently used coach even older than you mentioned will have a solid value, and will run for a LONG time. Ours has 117K miles, and is still going strong.

Look for good construction more than glitz, and check the owners forums here for details on specific brands.

You'll be fine,

Tom

Would anyone consider a nice 13 year old 38' Coachmen Sports Coach Legend with a Cat 330?

One item that you need to consider is the electronics. Some of the owners of older coaches have upgraded their TV/DVD systems to the digital HD sets that are typical in current models.

This will be a major benefit for you and the family as you travel the country.

Also I believe that the pre catalytic chassis are 2008 and earlier. Another point that may be of interest in your decision making process.

I've owned both Tiffin and Newmar. At this point I would say that Newmar is a better product but either one can have problems.

Frankly, the financial crash happened in 2008/2009 and the OEMs had to cut costs in order to try and survive. If I was looking to buy a used RV anything built in 2008 and earlier would be my choice.

I upgraded our front TV in our '04 Newmar 4011 to a 32" Sanyo LED with sound bar.

I have pictures showing the installation which I will be glad to share.

All the manufacturers make "luxury" models, I would not limit myself to Tiffin and Newmar. Check out Monaco, Winnebago, American Coach, HR, etc.
