Really? Lets just Generalize, about "People Here". Let me see. Yep, Ohio does NOT have a "NO Alcohol policy" in State Parks. Only areas (EX: Beach, Marina, Lake) that are Off Limits. And like I SAID. They do Allow you to consume Alcohol on Rented areas I.E. Campsites.

So now when I see 'Rules' posted I can assume they are just 'Guidelines'?

As far as Michigan state parks, SOME have alcohol restrictions. The ones I've seen are typically the parks that are on large lakes and have a high percentage of campers bringing boats.
Drunk people doing water sports tends to end badly.

Not sure, but don't think JpalmerCass was talking about people that have replied to this thread as "People Here", not folks in any given state.
And if I had enough fingers and toes I bet the count the posts I would find that a large percentage of people posting state "Ignore the rules, use your drug" (if alcohol is your drug of choice) compared to the ones that post "If you want to drink camp in Ohio."

So what's someone who isn't a teetotaler supposed to do, disallow myself from half the RV parks in the nation? How am I supposed to know before I arrive that I'm not welcome there? I enjoy company and am more than willing to share drinks with those who visit. Should I throw away the $$$$ of alcohol in my pantry just because I need a place to sleep?
I'm in the "I'm a responsible adult and enjoy a drink after a long day of driving" crowd. I'm polite, less introverted, more gregarious and friendly when I've had my wind down drink(s) for the evening. Does that make me an RV Park social outcast?
Don't judge me, Bro.

Every state parks website I've read includes the rules and regulation somewhere. What happens inside your RV is no-one else's business IMO. Your home is your castle, the patio is open to to public view.

a couple years ago i went tailgating a football game before heading to the stadium. everyone was drinking beer out of solo cups and i had mine in a koozie. literally 70k people around with most carrying a solo cup full of alcohol and the cops saw my koozie and gave me an open container ticket. they couldn't tell what was in my can. it could have been a pepsi for all they knew. I said look around everyone is drinking why is it okay for them but not me when literally you have no way of knowing whats in either. The cop told me that he understands and its not his favorite law but its his job to enforce them. He told me to finish my beer before he finished writing the ticket because when he was done i was having to dump it out. So there I stood drinking a beer on the street corner infront of a cop waiting on him to write me a 280 dollar ticket all because my beer was in a can covered with a koozie instead of a solo cup.

That's why we prefer coffee travel mugs with lids on them. They are insulated, keep your "coffee" cold, and have a carry handle.

The next thing I know him and his wife are drunk blasting music and dancing naked the picnic table. The park rangers showed up and escorted them out of the campground. I was a but shocked. At work he said well there's another campground we are band from. Turns out this is something that happens to them regularly. Needless to say we never went camping with them again. So I understand why there are no drinking rules

Makes you wonder about the legality of forcing an intoxicated person to drive out of the park.

I just read the Utah State Parks rules and regulations, surprisingly, there is no prohibition on alcohol use in the parks (in general). There are rules against boating while intoxicated, and against public intoxication. I have seen campers taken away in patrol cars when the party got too loud or rowdy.
I see a fair number of people fishing with beer visible while waiting for the fish to bite. I've been asked for my fishing license, with nothing said about the beer next to my chair.
Having said that, I always keep the drinking quiet around the camp, same as at home. Don't want any uninvited guests!
Surprises me, actually, because Utah is pretty hard on alcohol consumption in general.

That surprises me seems how we in Utah live in a babysitter state
