No purchase at the last minute

I had a beautiful 2016 Heartland Wilderness Camper all set with the money ready.

I started to doubt myself and what I don't know. I post my concern in the TT forum and with positive and gentle words, the members let me know that I should wait.

I am going to wait a year, read the forum, gain knowledge and go slow. I want to make wise choices with no regrets.

Thank you for the insight.

Congratulations on your good decision. We spent almost two years (waiting until I could retire) on this forum, going to RV shows, looking on-line (rvtrader.com).

We went from thinking we wanted a small TT to purchasing a pre-owned Class A. It was a journey! We saved many $ purchasing our first and last RV.

We love our RV, and plan to travel often. Wish you success as you start your journey.

You probably saved yourself a lot of headaches. The first Heartland I ever walked in, a large 5th wheel at an RV show, had a floor that felt similar to walking on a trampoline! As I stood outside and watched my rather small MIL walk around I could literally see the floor sagging under her with each step. They might "look" good, but I think the construction has a LOT to be desired.

Good friends of ours bought one new and within a few years it was just falling apart.

Unfortunately, from what I've seen the last couple of years at RV shows, more and more TT and 5er mfg are in a race to the bottom of the quality spectrum.

Hopefully you will be able to find somebody that you can hang out with that can help you learn what goes on and how to set up and operate your new abode. I know it can all appear to be daunting, but I think that frustration can magnify any problems X10. Take your time to learn and most of all, don't throw yourself to the wolves. One of the best things I have seen is a newbie buying something local from somebody moving up and then going and camping close by each other so you have that resource if you need it.

Good decision....better safe than sorry. Besides the one you will buy hasn't been put up for sale yet. But it will be.

We did the same thing. Had signed the paperwork on an RV and then backed out before we took delivery. A year later we bought something similar but a bit smaller, used, and half the price. Very happy that we waited.
