One reason I settled on an RV was for some peace and quiet when just sitting. WRONG!!! There's more noise inside the RV than outside. This is a brand new 2012 Heartland. Every blower, fan or gadget that moves a volume of air sounds like it's a jet engine or your in a wind tunnel.

Vent fans: I replaced the stock that came from the mfg in bedroom vent with a cooling fan from a computer server. Now it runs quietly, can't even hear it and I'll do the same for the head. Checking out the exhaust vent in the cooker hood is like a wind tunnel. Will replace that one as well with a noisless server cooler fan if I can find one that will handle the heat. Seems server fans move more air, they do it quietly and they are cheap. Their only disadvantage are the blue LEDs I have to clip out.

Atwood makes the heater, not sure about the A/C but both are so loud I have to turn the TV up to hear it. It was easy enough to do something about the vents, but the blowers in the heater needs t be able to work in heat and the one on the A/C has to fit the unit.

From the sound these blowers make they are moving a hell of a lot of iar. Right, sure they do and I have a bridge for sale in San Francisco Bay, it's gold.

Are there blower replacements or if I have to replace the A/C and heater quiet ones that move air more quietly with less noise than they actually do?

Amen! Your idea about a server fan in the head is a great idea. I think I got one laying around for mine.

Is your hood vent blowing air to the outside or recirculating it. Ours was not vented outside and so noisy I rarely used it. Instead we would run the Fantastic Vent fan which is far quieter and moves a lot of air. Our bathroom came with one too and with two you can really cool the rv in the evenings. As for the floor heaters. Yep, they can be loud even if buried inside cabinets. I managed to get to both of mine and add some sticky back sound deading material to the housings. Closing off some of the intake vent area also reduces the sound without causing overheating. Both of mine are quiet enough to not cause the tv to be turned up. The Air Conditioners on the other hand are noisy and the trying to use the heat pumps is just as noisy. Running their fans on low is the best I can do for those. We also have an electric fireplace that is virtually silent and will keep the chill off just about anywhere we camp.

The vent hood actually vents to the outside. I was going to use the same setup with a server fan when I build the computer into the cabinets. A server fan and vent hood out the back of the trailer. It could be closed during transport and would vent out the back. If you are unaware computers can throw a lot of heat.

I fouind a small window air conditioner that fits perfectly. It's a Frigidaire and runs very quietly so why cant the mfgs do the same for roof units and heat?

What really gets to me is the horrific noise the A/C makes!

Even at the highest volume setting we can't hear the TV. Sleeping becomes almost impossible for me, though DH can sleep through bombs falling (he's hard-of-hearing). I don't understand why they can't invent a quieter A/C for RVs. From outside you barely can hear it. From inside it's horrible.

The fan over the stove is also pretty noisy but that's not needed when sleeping.

Are you sure it vented the heat and burned gasses INSIDE?

You may have a flap outside that is latched shut. We have to unlatch ours to vent the heat and steam from cooking to the great outdoors.

Absolutely positive. I even had to lift the motor/fan out of the microwave to place in into the external exhaust mode. It was technically filtered but that is worthless. The bonus to venting it outside is the noise level is 1/4 what it was. With it on low it was loud before and I rarely used it. I let the fantastic vent do the job but that requires cleaning more often and pulls the polluted air across the roof a couple of feet. I think they just wanted to save a couple of dollars in the construction.

Blowers, Fans, even the engine (usually, yesterday was an exception) noises do not bother me.. The noise from the shotgun seat.. That bothers me.

(Oh the exception: Today, I need to replace a serpentine belt.. You can figure it out).

I consider the inside "white noises" as a buffer to the outside sounds. This is especially true during the quite evening hours when other campers are making a racket around the campfire and I'm trying to sleep. I often run my TV "white noise" louder than otherwise necessary for this purpose. Unless dry camping away from the crowd, the inside noises can be a friend.

With a ducted AC system. In daytime I only run the rear AC unit. It is not loud at all in the front of the MH. Only time I need to raise the TV sound is when a heavy rain comes through beating on the rubber roof.

My AC's fans don't run 100% of the time like some. They are set up to shut the fan & compressor off the same time when set temps are reached. And both come back on at the same time when needed.
