Not sure what kind of HW tank you have, but maybe try doing this Larry:

Most likely it is the check valve located on the back of the water heater. Mine failed shut and I had no hot water. I bought a replacement at HD, if I recall correctly. It is very cheaply made and squeaks or sings when water passes through it. To get to the back of the water heater, remove the side panel in the water heater compartment.

Just a note of interest. I replaced all of my basement bulbs with cheap, ebay 4100K LEDs. What a world of difference. I can actually see what is in there now.

Happy trails,
Rick Y

Air pocket is good to have......controls increases in pressure from water swelling when being heated

But 'noisy' when using hot water is typically the check valve chattering.
As stated they are cheap junk.....just a plastic plunger/spring/o-ring assembly that RV MFGs use vs installing a shutoff valve.
Typically on HOT out right at tank........but Winnebago has been know to use one on COLD in & HOT out

HOT out usually is problem as scale/mineral deposits collect in HOT out

I had a singing hot water issue as well. You can unscrew the check valve at the bottom of the tank and pull the guts out...I think mine had a little spring and a couple of other do-dads. All quiet afterwards. Reaching it was the hardest thing and then getting the pex pipe snug. I really don't think you need the check valve there anyway...there are at least a couple of others before your water even gets to the tank.

thanks for the responses. I got involved in buying a home in Florida and did not take the time to check for your help as we are busy attempting to make the house ours. Because of that my RV has had little attention except in the late evening and morning just before we fall into bed and our morning showers! Yes it's still singing!
