Norcold 1200 Door Seal

Have an 06 HR Scepter with a 4-door frig as referenced. It seems as the lower right, refrig section, door gets used the most. The door seal has split and does not seal as well as I would like. I was at my dealer and inquired about a seal replacement. They said and I believe them, from my own research since, that the door gets replaced as a unit. I have not called Norcold yet but hope to get a better resolution OR have a toe to toe with the engineer of that assembly. Does anyone else have a better answer/solution/experience than the one I have been given. Oh, about $500 for the door assembly (pricey door seal isn't it?). Thanks for any help, experiences, advice or commiseration.

Nope, no help on this one. Norcold's firm policy is that they sell only replacement doors.

You might try a RV salvage yard, or keep an eye out for the many people who are replacing Norcold 1200's with residential fridges. I suspect the day will soon come when Norcold wishes it had built better products and gave better customer service, but for now they hold all the cards.

My 1200 seals are fine, unlike the rest of the junkbox...it will be trashed one week from today and can be found in Red Bay Alabama along with an array of dead or dying ones...they replace several a week with residential ones...I'm sure there are LOTS of salvagable parts now that so many have ditched the Norcrap!

Norcold wonders why everyone is sooooo disgusted with them. The door seal issue is a prime example of them being arrogant.
