Now the repairs, Need opinions

Got the estimate, repair facility wanting to rebuild the fiberglass parts that were damaged. My inclination is to force them to replace the parts with new ones from Ortega Manufacturing. The front cap has a lot of small spider cracks throughout the piece and finish from the windshield down. Replacing the cap will be a lot of extra labor as well as opening up some seams to possible problems (leaks) down the road. Not sure if cap replacement is the best way to go. What are your thoughts?

I tend to replace. If care is taken leaks and such are negligible.

I would also go replace, you don't know what's behind the cap that could have been damaged also.

I would replace the cap. There may be some issues that may not appear for a year or two down the road. With todays sealants leaks shouldn't be a problem.

Replace and who ever does the repair will be responsible for leak problems if they occur. If its not that noticeable then take the money and happy camping.

I vote, new cap. Unless the repair is done by an extremely competent shop. IMHO only a few of those exist in Fiberglas repair. Most in the marine industry. Best wishes.
