Nu Wave oven ..anyone used in their rig?
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience in using one of these convection/infra red ovens in an RV? Especially 30 amp rigs....
The product page says its 1500 Watts and 12 amps just seeing if there's any personal experiences from anyone on here.
Thanks

Whilst we ponder the Nu Wave , will be firing up the George Foreman Grill for the yummy New york strip and other flash frozen steaks awaiting in the freezer

I have one and use it quite a lot, but I use it outside for the most part. The Nu Wave, along with an outside two burner LPG (with windscreen) upright on legs, allow me to do wonderful cooking things that makes a mess in the rig.

We just bought 2 Nu Waves only one was shipped haven't used them yet hope the other one comes before we leave to full time in November. I think this will help keep the heat down while cooking in the summer rather than using the propane stove.

We have one and love it. We use it mostly in the house but we have taken it on trips.
Pros:
Very versatile oven, can cook almost anything
Practically no extraneous heat to heat up the MH, a considerable plus if you want something oven-like for dinner but don't want to heat up the MH with the convection or gas oven on a 90˚ day.
Great for rainy days.
Cooks very quickly
Easy clean up if you use foil to line the bottom pan.
Cons:
The regular size model takes up a lot of space, which is always at a premium in a camper/mh.
A bit of a learning curve; can be easy to overcook foods if not careful.
That said, they do offer a "mini NuWave", which is smaller than the conventional one, however it's not as powerful and costs almost as much.
But all in all, I recommend the NuWave, especially if you have the space..

I've never cooked crap before so I'll bow to your obvious expertise.

We use ours all the time. No heat build up in the coach. You have to be able to figure the correct timing if your cooking more than one item at the time. Whole numbers divided by 2 handles most of it. It's also great for reheating leftovers.

Love mine. There is a learning curve. Great for roasting chickens. Even takes the place of the toaster.

We use ours in our RV. It is great for a whole chicken but they don't cook as fast as the commercials show. No way would I start with a frozen chicken. I do think it is a great addition to an RV if you have the space to carry it along.

After using in my house since Christmas, I will make room in my Class B this summer. Also taking to the beach house rental this summer. Love it!

The Convection oven part of the GE Spacemaker, Profile over the stove microwave failed during our last snowbird excursion. Replacements seemed pricey, and the microwave part still works, so last November we bought a NuWave oven, and experimented in the sticks and Bricks before toting it to south Florida this year. It has been great. At home we cooked a 13 lb. Turkey last thanksgiving. In the RV we have cooked many things that would require an oven.
Most recently I had a solidly frozen chicken breast that was so thick I was afraid to try it on the outdoor grill. I rubbed some olive oil on it and put it in the Nuwave for 13 minutes on a side. It came out so moist and tender I couldn't believe it. It does take up considerable space on the counter, and we need to move it to do dishes, but it is worth the trouble.

I use mine often in my coach (50 amp). It makes great wings! I also use the flash frozen steaks you mentioned on a charcoal grill or cast iron pan (don't have a GF grill). BTW, in case you don't know, you don't need to thaw the steaks before grilling them. I just drop the frozen steaks right on the grill. Gives them a nice crust and medium rare to medium interior.
