OBD connector on 05 KSDP Spartan
Yes, I looked in the search locations, but have not found a reference to the OBD location on my 05 Spartan MM chassis. Anyone have a clue?
Thanks,
Tom

Typically, you can have them in up to 3-4 spots. There is almost always one around the steering column. Unlike cars, where they're mounted at the bottom edge of the dash, often the RV manufacturers juts stuff them up around the steering column on either side. You would probably need a light and mirror to do a good search.
The other spots are at the engine and often near where your electronics (Engine and trans modules) are mounted.

We have the same model. Mine is near the base of the steering column.

Yes, thanks. I found out that the connector is actually the little round, grey connector bolted to a board near the base of the steering column. Not at all like the rectangular plug I was expecting. I have ordered an adapter cable. Maybe that will work.
Anyway, thanks for the help.

What reader are you trying to adapt to the KSDP? There are very few readers that will read the output from a Cummins engine as it's not an OBD port. You probably have a J1939 port like shown here: http://www.silverleafelectronics.com/node/29?q=node/6
I've used Silverleaf VMSpc units on both our DSDP's. One had the CAT 3126 and the next had the ISC 350 and I put a Banks kit on it. Our present rig has the VMS 400CL built in.

Mr_D,
Thanks for the note. I'm pretty sure that the J1939 is the right one. I'm trying to use a HUD to show some data on the wind shield as I drive. Exactly what isn't really all that important, I guess, I'm just trying stuff. The kit I got has the ability to display some GPS data, but probably nothing useful. The GPS input module is expensive, and not on my list for now.
As I said, I'm just messing with stuff. When the adapter for the J1939 gets in, I can try some more stuff.
Tom
