We actually have several around the house. Dw is definitely vertically challenged and has a heck of a time reaching the top cupboards so we have a couple in the kitchen, a couple more in the laundry room / craft roof and another one out in the storage shed/ wine cellar. So far I haven't fallen off one but have tripped over one numerous times.

OK, thanks for the suggestion, Possum. But I don't see myself standing on a stool to take a shower next to a glass door. 
And with that thought, I'll add that I don't know WHO had the bright idea to build RV showers about a foot off the floor??? WHAT THE HECK??? There you are, soaking wet, trying to gingerly step out of the shower with nothing to hang on to...and the drop to the floor makes your knees buckle. Ah, exciting times.

The plumbing has to go somewhere where it can be accessed for repair work. Your average RV really don't got no basement.

Sarah got me on the parts dept. Little things like a strip of metal like this can be bought in any store for .75cents. But put it in a parts dept RV section and it turns into gold for 79.99 same strip of metal. Where do they get away with this? I go to the cheaper store for sure.

Anyone who has owned a boat or a swimming pool has experienced this same phenomenon when buying parts or supplies.

I suppose it can, but the water always drains out quickly so I have yet to experience it.

Good to know I have company!! I've always felt "mission accomplished" when I am safely standing on the bathroom floor after departing the shower!!

May I suggest one of those 1 1/2 foot round mini trampolines. You're out in a hop, a bounce and a splat. But the splat will be well away from the shower. 
Seriously, I wonder if a hinged platform could be rigged up to allow a person to step out of the shower onto a rubber coated surface the same height as the shower floor and then step down from there.
